Angelique Sanson to represent Mauritius at Miss World 70th Anniversary

Angelique Sanson, 25, from Curepipe (The City of Light) was crowned Miss World Mauritius on Saturday 5 October 2019 during a grand coronation held in Ebene.

The administrative manager will use her year to focus on her ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ project to raise awareness about endometriosis, a tissue disorder affecting women. She succeeds Urvashi Gooriah who attended the Miss Mauritius final.

On being selected as the national representative of Mauritius at the 70th Miss World anniversary, Angelique said: “I am not sure what just happened. I would never have thought of entering Miss Mauritius, let alone being selected by the judges. It’s such a surprise and an honour to have the opportunity to represent my country. I’ve had the opportunity to make new friends and want to thank all the girls for their friendship. Thank you for your support, messages and encouraging words. I have received so much love. During my year, I would like to do achieve many things! I hope I can make Mauritius proud.'"

Welcome, Angelique to our Miss World family!
