4them.malaysia is my BWAP project dealing with the health & nutrition issues of the indigenous (Orang Asli) community in Malaysia
Health is holistic & one of the most important factors determining good health is effective personal hygiene. As a part of my project, I travelled together with various organisations to many indigenous (Orang Asli) villages in Malaysia to provide hygiene education classes to young children. We gave out personal hygiene kits & created awareness on the importance of maintaining personal hygiene as skin infections and parasitic infestations are still prevalent among this community. With the worsening Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia, hand hygiene is an important measure to prevent the spread of this virus. I believe that every social or personal change stems from awareness, hence I am grateful for the organisations, volunteers, and the villagers for allowing me to conduct these hygiene awareness classes.
