I had the privilege of speaking to over 1,000 aspiring teachers from Sultan Idris Education University, about the critical importance of mental health education, which is a key part of my mission to raise awareness and integrate mental health into society. During the session, I discussed how mental health affects students’ learning and well-being, and how teachers play a vital role in recognizing and supporting students facing emotional challenges. I emphasized the need for educators to help break the stigma around mental health and provide a safe space for students to discuss and manage their struggles.I also shared practical strategies for teachers to incorporate mental health awareness in their classrooms, such as encouraging open conversations and teaching coping mechanisms. My goal was to inspire these future educators to create inclusive environments where students’ emotional health is prioritized, helping them thrive both inside and outside the classroom. This opportunity was an important step in advancing the importance of mental health education within schools and beyond.
