# Destigmatizing access to Mental Healthcare
We got to visit Mathari National Teaching and referral hospital and it was quite an insightful session. Other than being the largest public psychiatric hospital in Kenya,offering specialized medical mental health care,it also offers many more medical services ie. radiotherapy for other ailments.There is also an out-patient wing where one can get a mental wellness checkup with a professional and it is open to everyone.
After spending sometime with the doctors and the in-patients,I was really impressed by the work that both parties are putting in towards recovery .The National government has been a key supporter by channelling financial assistance as well as supplying free sanitary towels.We also brought some essentials to last them awhile.Making a difference is all about collective proactivity
