“Beautiful change.”
Beauty Through Her Eyes is a collection of images submitted by each country.
The symbolic interpretation of fall foliage in Japanese culture. Life is not about the beginning and how we initially blossom. It is not about the end and how we wither away. For the Japanese people, the beauty of one’s journey rests in the process itself—the beauty of growth and change. This is why we have the “ganbaru” culture that respects work ethic over final results. This is why we have traditional tea ceremonies that spend hours making one cup of tea. And this is why Miss World Japan has a mission of contributing to the regional revitalization of Fukushima, a region struck severely by the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake. No matter how devastated a region may be, and no matter how hopeless the future may appear to be, if we take each moment to contribute to the process of regeneration, then in that moment lies true beauty, one of heartfelt cooperation to bring about meaningful change. In this picture, I am surrounded by the fall foliage, surrounded by the potential for “beautiful change.” My Beauty with a Purpose is not about grasping for the final results. It is about living in each moment, carefully touching the hearts of individuals that appear in my path, and finding value in the collaboration and efforts that ultimately lead up to a “beautiful change” in the world.
