As Miss World Italy, I represent not just the beauty and grace of my country but also carry a deeper message, a commitment to causes that touch the heart of anyone who cares about the future of our planet and its most vulnerable creatures. Among the rolling hills and vibrant cities of Italy, I've had the honor of being part of a movement that values inclusion and mutual support, and I carry this message with me here in India, to the Miss World finale.
The project I chose to represent for "Beauty with a Purpose" is called "Riding for Inclusion," an extraordinary initiative carried forward by the youngsters of Giubbe Verdi Salento (click here for more information). This project aims to promote social inclusion through horseback riding, demonstrating how sports can be a powerful tool for overcoming barriers and uniting people, regardless of their physical abilities or social conditions. These special children, some of whom face daily challenges due to particular syndromes, have decided to join my journey with a gesture that deeply touched my heart.
With signs in hand proudly bearing the hashtag #savethetiger, these young individuals have shown that their support goes beyond the boundaries of Italy, extending to the wild expanses of India, where tigers, symbols of strength and freedom, struggle for their survival. Their initiative has not only amplified the message of "Riding for Inclusion" but also drawn attention to the critical cause of tiger conservation, making me even more aware of the importance of these magnificent animals not only here in India but around the world.
During my experience at Miss World, I've been fortunate to share and exchange ideas with colleagues from every corner of the globe. Together, we have become spokespersons for causes close to our hearts, demonstrating that beauty can be a powerful catalyst for positive change. The initiative of the children from Giubbe Verdi Salento is a glaring example of how small gestures can have a significant impact, inspiring others to take a stand for important causes like tiger conservation.
Through my platform at Miss World, I hope to bring this awareness to a broader audience, emphasizing that social inclusion and the conservation of nature are intimately connected. Every action we undertake to support one can have a cascading effect, also benefiting the other. In a world facing increasingly complex challenges, it's crucial that we, as a global community, work together to promote a more inclusive and sustainable future for everyone.
