Praying for time was the title of the song I chose to sing as part of my talent submission and I was soo delighted to be a talent semifinalist. The reason behind me choosing this song reflected the message I was trying to convey with my beauty with a purpose projects and is even more relevant now with what’s going on in the world. 

The meaning behind the powerful lyrics that George Micheal wrote:

“It's my way of trying to figure out why it's so hard for people to be good to each other”

The way the world is perceived is as a place where resources and time are running out. We’re taught that you have to grab what you can before it’s gone. It’s almost as if there isn’t time for compassion. 

Well I believe that humanity and compassion for each other is the only way we as a society can evolve. Simply being good to one another can go a long way in understanding and helping someone through their struggles. I tried to incorporate this in the song by including my beauty with a purpose work through and the children I have been able to talk too on my journey.

I only hope we can get through this time. Looking at what is happening in Ukraine at the moment, it really saddens me to think that life will be lost and millions displaced due to greed and lack of humanity. I pray for all the people going through this type of conflict.
