Excited to take the lead on a new initiative called “Foodle” as part of my overall Beauty With A Purpose projects helping families and children in Direct Provision/ Asylum & Refugee centres.
Foodle is a community collaboration between House of Akina and non-profit social enterprise FoodCloud and also supported by the Africa centre.
This is a pilot project aimed to support families who have transitioned from direct provision/ asylum& refugee centres with surplus food stock from local businesses.
Taking the pressure of families in this way helps them to be able to stretch their finances out to other necessities required for the household such as utility bills, educational equipment for kids etc.
We are piloting this project in the Dublin area so if any families in the Dublin area who have recently transitioned from these centres feel they can benefit from this service please contact me via Instagram or Twitter.
If any local businesses would like to join by donating food stock to help families while also cutting down food waste too that would be much appreciated too.
