Beauty in science
So I thought I should give you some insight into my double life as your everyday Miss Ireland and a medical scientist (a.k.a The real Avenger’s team sent to stop the covid pandemic ). Okay all superhero jokes aside, I absolutely loved chemistry as a child and was super fascinated with the human body and how disease progressed and how to cure it. I never imagined I would one day walk into work as a Miss ireland and be able to use my new found platform to promote the importance of education, of women working in areas of STEM or STEAM and of the challenges that come with being a woman working in male dominated areas and gender pay gap issues. Aside from all the obvious hurdles one thing is for sure, we as women are multifaceted and can do and be anything we truly imagine as long as we put that river of imagination into action! I am Miss Ireland, I am a Medical scientist and I am proud to have used my skills to contribute in medical efforts to help people affected by the covid pandemic and beyond.
Keep learning girls and boys, and discovering the vast knowledge in the incredible world of science and technology.
