During our time at Miss World we have many rehearsals where we can wear more casual attire. I have chosen to use this as an opportunity to bring awareness and highlight Irish charities by wearing a different t-shirt representing each of them for every rehearsal.
Today I'm representing Variety Ireland.
Variety Ireland was Miss Ireland’s chosen charity partner for 2022.
Formed in 1951 as the 41st Variety Tent, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Ireland has made a real difference to children’s lives throughout the country.
Formerly known as the ‘Variety Club of Ireland’, for many decades our charity was synonymous with “Sunshine Coaches”. Over 50 of these specially adapted, wheelchair accessible buses were donated to many schools and communities and helped bring many children ‘Into the Sunshine’.
Then in 2009, Variety were delighted to introduce the first ever wheelchair “Liberty Swing” into Ireland. This innovative swing enabled wheelchair users to be able to enjoy the sense of freedom and movement that others may take for granted.
Over recent years, their focus has turned to more tangible items that will directly impact and help children, families, schools and communities.
Their Recycle Mobility and Heart of Learning Programmes are continuing to have long-term, positive results for children all across Ireland.
There are never enough resources to answer every appeal, but thanks to generous donations and sponsorship, Variety – the Children’s Charity of Ireland has been able to spend the last 70 years helping where help is needed.

Variety Ireland is run by a dedicated team of professional volunteers who donate all their time and services for free to oversee the day to day running of the charity. This ensures that all funds raised through donations and fundraising initiatives go directly to help children across the island of Ireland who rely on their help.
