During our time at Miss World we have many rehearsals where we can wear more casual attire.
I have chosen to use this as an opportunity to bring awareness and highlight Irish charities, by wearing a different t-shirt representing each of them for every rehearsal.
Today I’m representing the Irish Red Cross, in particular the Irish Red Cross Clare Area Community Transport support vehicles.
The Irish Red Cross is a charity that is particularly meaningful to me as it was the first charity organisation I became part of as a young child and where I first learnt CPR and basic first aid. This really helped to blossom my interest in healthcare and definitely influenced my decision to become a medical doctor.
Irish Red Cross has been dedicated to serving people in need whether they are here in Ireland or caught up in humanitarian crises in countries and regions throughout the globe.
The vision of the Irish Red Cross is to be a leading humanitarian organisation, providing impartial services and support to vulnerable communities both at home and abroad.
The Irish Red Cross community transport support vehicles are an invaluable service provided by the Irish Red Cross in County Clare to transport patients in need to their vital healthcare appointments that they would be otherwise unable to attend.

The Irish Red Cross:
- Prevents and alleviates human suffering, protects life and health and ensures respect for all.
- Helps those who are most vulnerable to prepare, withstand, and recover from emergencies in their communities.
- Restores families who have been separated by war, forced migration, or other circumstances.
- Provides first aid and ambulance cover at events and incidents throughout the country – including mountain & lake rescue.
- Supports older people and remote members of our community – assisting with the delivery of food and medicine and transport for hospital appointments.
- Provides interactive and educational opportunities for our youth members.
- Delivers first aid and psychological first aid training.
- Delivers local and national support for refugees in need of food, water, shelter, and medical assistance.
