Miss Iraq, Maria Farhad. stands by the ruins of the Great Mosque of al-Nuri in the city of Mosul. The mosque was destroyed by ISIS when it captured the city in 2014. The mosque was built in the 12th century and was famous for its leaning minaret, which gave the city its nickname "the hunchback".
