Here's the third and last episode of my Puerto Rico diaries, and this one is extremely special.
While it was my first trip to the west, it was indeed the best. Visiting the 'enchanted island' of Puerto Rico made my Miss World journey even more memorable.
Our daily schedule was pretty hectic, and we had activities planned throughout the day, minute by minute. On one relatively light day, I remember looking out of my balcony and seeing Priscilla recording an ethnic dance video. I was so tempted to be a part of it and join her. So, I jumped out of my balcony and joined her happy dance to celebrate all the great times that we had had together, and this is just one episode out of the many I had with my sisters from across the globe.
And, as most of my predecessors had an opportunity to celebrate Christmas with Miss World, so did I, and it was magical! We had a unique Christmas event at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve in Puerto Rico. And I remember all of us had so much fun because there was a live music band putting up a great show, and along with that, we had a mini-parade where we went marching across along the halls to the Christmas tree. And that was when I learned the lyrics to Feliz Navidad.
Days later, I had to go in isolation due to COVID, it was a very unfortunate thing to have happened, but despite all of it, I was connected to the girls, who by then had become my family. When I found out that India made it to the Top 10 and later to the Top 6 of the Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP) challenge, my heart was filled with joy, knowing that all the hard work and the energy that I poured into my cause was being recognised and appreciated. It was a dream come true. Today, I would like to take a moment to thank everybody at Miss World for having given it so much appreciation and importance because I strongly resonate with my cause, and seeing it being valued is really very special.
We have a saying back here in India, 'picture abhi baaki hai,' meaning the 'show is not over', and yes, I really can't wait to be back in Puerto Rico to create more amazing memories!
