'Our beliefs determine our actions, and it's our consistent actions that will produce results.'

I left my corporate job to be a part of pageants with a mission in my mind, a mission that required a strong platform to use my voice for the vulnerable children in my country. Miss India and Miss World gave me that platform, and I thank God for enabling me to be an instrument in saving young lives.

My Beauty With A Purpose project 1098 is my long-cherished dream to prevent and stop child abuse and rescue children in distress. During my year-long reign, I met with several business heads, philanthropists, police, government officials to discuss the dire need for rescue vehicles, and I am proud to announce that our efforts paid off. On the occasion of Children's day, Satyavathi Rathod, Minister of Tribal Welfare and Women and Child Welfare, flagged off 33 Bala Rakshak Child Response vehicles donated to WCDW by eleven big companies and today, we have the results of all the hard work.

If facts have to be taken into account, 351 kids were rescued following the launch of these vehicles, most of them from child labour and marriage.

These vehicles were also used in yet another mission, 'Operation Smile' by the Cyberabad Police, who rescued 461 children, including 81 girls. In the rescue operation conducted in the entire month of January, 214 children from my home state Telangana and 247 children from other states across the country were rescued. While some of the kids were sent to relief homes, others were handed over to their parents.

This is just the beginning, a fight against the evil in the society that targets and abuses small children for their benefit. Thank you to the police force and the whole team who worked behind this; we still have a long way to go...
