India’s national child helpline number 1098 has been instrumental in saving several lives in the past year. I am grateful to have been a part of the team that tirelessly works towards rescuing every child in distress, which has been my long-cherished mission and to see it work wonders in the lives of so many young kids gives me immense pleasure. 

While child helpline number 1098 has existed for long, few are seldom aware of the same, so with my Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP) project 10-9-8, I wish to create awareness about the same in every way possible.

Here’s another case file from a rescue operation. We received a call alerting a case of child labour. The Shamshabad zone smile team quickly rushed to the spot and rescued ten children who were illegally and forcefully employed in a bangle-making unit at Mailardevpally. An FIR was filed on the owner with the help of IR labour officers. Following the operation, the incident was highlighted to CWC and DCPU, and as per their orders, the kids, all between the ages of 8 and 14, were sheltered at the Saidabad government boy’s home. 

While a few kids were rescued with just one, we need your help to save many more. Report any incident of child abuse at 1098, and rest assured, your call will remain anonymous.
