While my Beauty With A Purpose (BWAP) project 1098 was built on my long-cherished dream to prevent and stop child abuse and rescue children in distress. This case was among the first few following my association with the Hyderabad police.

In June, we received a call on the child helpline number- 1098 to alert a case of child marriage, and the same was executed by the mother herself. The team immediately reached the location with police supervisors, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) and Anganwadi Teacher (AWT), who managed to stop the marriage in time. They rescued the young girl and rushed to Moinabad, a village in Telangana. The child welfare committee (CWC) and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) team were informed, and the girl was safely placed in Sakhi, One Stop Center at Vanasthalipuram.
