Six of us, Miss World participants, along with Julia Morley, Karolina Bielawska and Vanessa Ponce recently visited Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Sthal in Nagpur, and it was such a unique experience to see beauty and benevolence come together in such a profound way. Our visit wasn't just about curiosity; it was a genuine exploration of the incredible humanitarian efforts led by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Stepping into the peaceful surroundings of Dr. Hedgewar Smriti Sthal, we were immediately struck by its historical significance. The site, a tribute to Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the RSS founder, stands as a testament to his visionary leadership.
The sprawling premises echoed stories of selfless service, community empowerment, and a deep-rooted sense of national pride—an enlightening experience showcasing the ethos driving the RSS's social projects across India and beyond.
The highlight of our visit was getting to interact with the dedicated individuals behind the RSS's diverse social initiatives. Beyond the usual pageantry discussions, we had deep conversations about the volunteers' experiences, learning about the countless lives touched by the organisation's efforts.
The exchange of ideas between us beauty queens and the RSS volunteers was incredibly powerful. Both sides brought unique perspectives, creating a dynamic atmosphere of mutual learning and appreciation. It was heartening to see this fusion of beauty, intelligence, and humanitarian values in action.
The visit left a lasting impact on us, inspiring us not just as beauty queens but as individuals privileged to witness the transformative impact of the RSS's humanitarian work.
