Today, as part of the Miss World delegation, I was privileged to visit 'Than Singh ki Paathshala' in New Delhi. This visit was not just an eye-opener but a heartfelt experience that left a lasting impact on me. Than Singh, a dedicated police officer, has taken it upon himself to provide free education to children living in the slums, offering them a chance at a brighter future.
Walking through the doors of the school, I was immediately struck by the enthusiasm and eagerness of the children to learn. Despite their challenging circumstances, their smiles were infectious, and their determination was inspiring. It was heartwarming to see how education was not just a means to escape poverty for these children but a gateway to a world of possibilities.
This visit also struck a personal chord with me, as it reminded me of my own experiences working on my project, Aashayein, in Shahdara, Delhi. Through Aashayein, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education in the lives of underprivileged children. Education not only provides knowledge but also instils confidence, resilience, and hope for a better tomorrow.
Than Singh Ji's selfless dedication to providing education to these children is commendable and serves as a shining example for all of us, his noble efforts reaffirm my belief in the importance of giving back to society and being a catalyst for positive change.
I am immensely grateful to Miss World for giving us this opportunity to visit 'Than Singh ki Paathshala'. It is experiences like these that remind us of the impact we can have when we come together for a common cause.
