A warm welcome from the sweetest soul. I, along with my Miss World sisters made a visit to the Than Singh Ki Paathsala (school) in Delhi on an outreach trip to the dear children enrolled there.
This amazing educational project established by Than Singh changes the lives of many little ones who could otherwise get lost in the streets of Delhi.
I was blessed to witness the boldness and beauty within these children who truly value their education. I spoke in Hindi and told the girls they are beautiful, they are smart, they can achieve anything.
The language of love is universal. Fortunately Miss India Sini Shetty was right next to me to help us communicate through our language barrier. I learned about their favourite subjects, their best friends, their ambitions and of course told them a little about myself and Guyana as their brilliant minds were curious
It was an emotional visit for us as we interacted with them and heard their messages of women empowerment and love for education through a street play. Heroes like Than Singh truly make the world a better place.
May these children continue to be nurtured and grow to lead fulfilling lives. Every child deserves the gift of knowledge and education. Thank you to Mr. Than Singh and the wonderful volunteers for your selfless acts of service and love.
