AWWA - the Army Wives Welfare Association
7th Day
This morning, at the 71st Miss World Festival, I joined 105 participants, along with Julia Morley CBE, Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, and Miss World 2018, Vanessa Ponce de Leon, at a Women Empowerment and Sustainability workshop. The workshop was hosted by AWWA - the Army Wives Welfare Association, at the Ashok Hall, Manekshaw Centre. We discussed the fantastic work done by AWWA, including promoting education, menstrual hygiene, sustainable development, and supporting military widows.
During the event, we heard inspiring speeches from army wives who are gifted women with brilliant ideas and talents. They work together to empower other women and assist the most vulnerable ones, which aligns with the ideals of Julia Morley and the Miss World Organization.
In addition to the army wives, Julia Morley, Karolina Bielawska, Vanessa Ponce de Leon, and four delegates, including Northern Ireland, Kaitlyn Clarke, Trinidad and Tobago, Aché Abrahams, South Africa, Claude Mashego, and India, Sini Shetty, shared their ideas with the women present at the event.
Julia Morley described it as an amazing interaction between participants of the 71st Miss World Festival and the Army Wives’ Welfare Association (AWWA). Both organizations shared wonderful humanitarian projects for women empowerment, children, sustainability, education, differently-abled individuals, feminine hygiene & health, and technology-led innovations.
I want to say thank you to AWWA association and to Miss World organization for such an insightful workshop!
