Hey everyone, it's Rgat Afwerki here! I'm representing Ethiopia at the Miss World stage, But beauty for me goes way beyond the crown. It's about using my platform to amplify the voices of the incredible women who shaped me – the women of Ethiopia.It's not just about hardship though. Look at the vibrant Mursi Tribe, with their unique traditions and lip plates symbolizing beauty and identity. LIP PLATES, guys! I recently visited them and was blown away by their culture and welcoming spirit. It's important to respect diverse practices and celebrate what makes Ethiopia so special. But listen, it's bigger than just education and hygiene. The Mursi Tribe, the women I met, they're facing a huge burden of malaria. They asked me, "Do you have the vaccine? Do you have pills?" Their pleas touched my heart. They didn't ask for fancy clothes or big stages, just a way to protect themselves and their families. We need to talk about that too, and find ways to support them. This is why I created the #EthiopianWomenSpeak campaign. I want the world to hear their stories, understand their challenges, and join me in empowering them.
