A Model Student

These days, Jess is more commonly known for being that girl on instagram posting all things STEM and space, but before starting her degree in aerospace engineering, Jess actually had quite a successful career in fashion modelling.

Beginning when she signed for her first agency at the age of fifteen, Jess' career stretches across the UK, Europe and Middle East, having modelled for an abundance of clients which include fashion week giants Moncler and MaxMara, as well as UK household brands Matalan and Regatta.

"I've had quite a mixed clientele over the years - at the beginning of my career I used to jump between the editorial and commercial markets a lot, but nowadays I'm mostly commercial, shooting primarily outdoor wear, hair and beauty" says Jess.

"I've had some incredible experiences over the years - I once shot an editorial in the Musandam Peninsula of Oman at 04:30 in the morning, it was beautiful! The six page spread showcased Louis Vuitton's cruise collection for the middle eastern edition of Grazia Magazine, a real pinch-me moment which younger Jess had always dreamed of."

"A lot of people ask what my favourite experience of modelling has been, and the Oman shoot definitely comes to mind, but my true favourite style of shoot is actually anything outdoor wear - I love a simple, candid shoot where they want to see my personality shine through, they're the funnest"

 "I don't think people expected me to return to education after having been in the modelling industry for so long. I definitely don't think they expected me to pick to study aerospace engineering!" says Jess.
