Miss World Czech Republic 2020, Karolína Kopíncová, has provided proactive help during the Covid-19 quarantine period. She used her initiative and got involved with a variety of causes.

At the start of the pandemic, Karolina helped one of society’s most vulnerable groups, the elderly population. Restrictions on movement made getting the essentials they require more challenging. Karolina recognised this, joined forces with her mother and started a mini production line sewing and distributing protective face masks for “our loved ones and Vrbenská seniors,” she posted on social media.

Miss World Czech Republic addressed the problems that school children experienced during lockdown, being unable to attend school. She tutored children, three times a week, in the town of Vrbno pod Pradědem, in subjects such as maths, biology and Czech language and helped with their homework.

Karolina’s social media post says:

“Today we finally went to see the children I taught during the quarantine. We wanted to go out, but the weather wasn't good for us so we enjoyed this afternoon with a beautiful party. I think we succeeded."

As well as helping the people of Vrbno pod Pradědem, Karolina collected donations for The Nadace ČEZ Foundation, a charity that improves the quality of life in the Czech Republic and develops civil society activities. The donations that Karolina collected went towards environmental conservation projects in her hometown of Vrbno pod Pradědem. Karolina’s project won a ČSOB Insurance Policy competition so she received significant funding towards it.

Karoilna’s social media post explains her charity work, stating:

“This morning we have gone with with @radovan_sury to donate our unwanted clothes to @nadaceveronica. Why are we doing this? Because the clothes we donate to the foundation go on sale and you can also buy clothes at a good price at one of the foundation's stores. The money collected goes to environmental projects in Brno and its surroundings. If you donate your unwanted clothes or buy a nice piece there, you are helping to plant greenery or provide birds with new and clean shelters. “

Well done to Karolina in helping to a diverse range of causes. It will have a great impact on society.
