Miss World Czech Republic's mission as a volunteer started in 2020, much before she became a beauty queen in the Czech Republic. Krystyna connected with the community in Tanzania, where she goes several times per year as she works with Sonta initiative. They focus on providing quality education for the children.
Krystyna believes that education is a fundamental right that every child deserves, regardless of their background or circumstances. However, access to education still remains a challenge for many of the world's children, especially in these rural areas. That's why she decided to start with a school construction, to be able to provide quality education for the children.
In July 2022, a completely new fully equipped school was opened in Tanzania, where Krystyna and the team currently guide 320 children to a brighter future through their educational programs and English classes. The cost to study English in language centers in cities or to hire tutors is not affordable to people in difficult circumstances.
In the school, they developed the Free English Class project with 4 programs in Tanzania:
- Direct English teaching program
- Volunteer Exchange program
- Lunch service program
- Water Management program
With the direct English teaching program local teachers were arranged to provide classes in the newly built school.
With the volunteer exchange program they created a system where they accept international volunteers, and with that, I’ve become one of the international volunteers teaching at the school myself.
At the Lunch service program at school they currently provide meals for 320 students. Some students before this program, unfortunately, have spent 8 hours at school with no food due to the poor conditions of their parents. Since January 2023, students have had lunch every day and they can observe improvement in their class performance, class attendance, and their health condition.
With the Water Management program, Miss World Czech Republic provides clean water to the School by pumping water from the well to the tanks every week, as before this program the students were using dirty water from a small river which was located near the school.
