Hand Sign Sinhalese calls ‘Ayubowan’, ආයුබෝවන් 🙏

Dear internationals, do you know what Anudi Gunasekara, the Sri Lankan beauty queen representing the 72nd Miss World pageant, mostly uses to show this sign by putting her hands together 🙏? This is the heartfelt greeting that Sri Lankans give to their guests. Also, the greeting ‘Ayubowan’(ආයුබෝවන්), which is done with their hands close to their hearts and joined together, is the acceptance of Sri Lankans wishing that person a long life and a healthy life. You will see this at her introduction program, at the opening ceremony of the Miss World pageant, and on many occasions…😊
