Heading to the final night, but sometimes things turn to de different to what you expect. A new chance is on the way

At the final week, I had more time to hang more with my friends and to know more about them and the social projects that every queen was developing in each country. It was good to share our experiences, so I could borrow some of their ideas and to improve my own projects and give to others some of mines, so Beauty With A Purpose can continue its legacy and influence with even more strength and empowerment.

Rehearsals where even harder than before. But it wasn’t a barrier to keep discovering the enchantment island. A visit to the amazing Rain Forest, shaped by the warm and wet weather of Puerto Rico, was a highlight, where you feel a breathtaking flow of life and rich flora and fauna , so different of the cold and rough weather where I come from. It filled my heart with the energy that only wild nature can provide you.

I guess the most exciting moment I lived during this journey was when the results of the Talent competition was announced. I’ve been a classic ballet dancer almost all my life and to have the chance to represent your country with one of the things that passions you more, is completely worth. I’ve got the 4th place, and that made me proud, but not only me, but also from my first ballet teacher, who guided me through my first steps in this art, to those who helped me to prepare my Nutcracker choreography. And thank you Miss World again for giving me the opportunity to show my talent at the Charity Gala. To express my self with the beauty of this art, is one thing that makes me happy.

Sadly, a hard reminder of the current Covid 19 pandemics situation reached our event, and an outbreak of the virus amongst some candidates and staff settled a mandatory pause in our journey, but we must always remember that health comes first and we must take care of each other. The night before the original ending we were recording some scenes for the finals, but some of us where isolated, so it didn’t feel the same. But that night we knew that it was up to us to defeat that feeling or being hit by it. And that night I felt the sisterhood between us. All our make-up, hairdryers, eyelashes , and everything that help us to look gorgeous was at our hotel. In that moment we had to be ready, so we shared everything we had with eachother and helped each other with the hair, make up, styling, etc. Of course we knew that a competition was happening at that exact time, but our greatest competition are not the other girls. Our greatest competition is ourself.

We could not compete at the original final night, but I can proudly say that I will be blessed with a new stay in Puerto Rico, as a part of the TOP 40 . I’m sure it will be a wonderful experience, whatever the final results will be.  I’ve decided to stay a few days more with my family after the pageant. Puerto Rico and its people, the boricuas, have given me more than I can Imagine. And I want to show my family why Puerto Rico means a lot to me. The enchantment island has earned a place in my heart, forever.
