Introducing FinPowered

FinPowered is a Beauty with a Purpose project of Miss World Canada 2020, Svetlana Mamaeva. It is a charitable initiative which provides free financial education to women, with over 85 workshops completed to date. 

Studies show that only 1 in 3 Canadian women consider themselves to be financially knowledgeable. The goal is to empower women by educating them on a variety of topics, such as overcoming financial abuse, budgeting, saving, managing debt, as well as learning insider tips on personal banking. 

Domestic abuse is closely linked to financial abuse, with 95% of domestic violence survivors also experiencing financial abuse by their partners. In collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Women's Empowerment (CCFWE), FinPowered provides women with the resources to develop and achieve economic independence.
