On November 28, 2021, Miss World contestants recorded their Dances of the World in the Old San Juan City. Before arriving to Puerto Rico, all contestants have been asked to prepare a short dance and a national costume that represents their country. This segment of the final show will showcase and celebrate multiculturalism and diversity, as nearly 100 countries have united at the Miss World festival in 2021.
Miss World Canada 2020, Svetlana Mamaeva, performed a square dance and wore a national costume inspired by the Canadian winter. While interviewed by Channel 11, she shared: “The square dance is deeply rooted in Canadian history. The traditional square dance dress was used as the inspiration for my national costume, combined with an Arctic Ice Queen theme to highlight the beauty of Canadian winter. The headpiece of my costume is decorated with 13 Maple leaves, representing Canada's 10 provinces and 3 territories that make up our vastly diverse nation.”
