On December 3, 2021, Miss World contestants participated in the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico. Miss World Canada 2020, Svetlana Mamaeva, shared that it was one of her favourite and most memorable nights at Miss World.
The contestants enjoyed holiday festivities, which included dancing and live music band performances, followed by the lighting of the main Christmas tree at the hotel lobby. In the midst of Miss World’s busy schedule and the hot tropical weather, it was almost easy to forget that Christmas was near. The Miss World team and hotel staff created an atmosphere of celebration and joy for everyone that night, which gave all the contestants the renewed energy and immense gratitude to continue their journey.
“The night of the Christmas tree lighting was such a joyful experience," shared Svetlana. "We danced together and sang Christmas songs. My heart was so full. It almost felt like I was a child again when I was anticipating Christmas time with a feeling that this time of the year will only bring miracles and true happiness to everyone. There is no doubt that this was one of the most cherished memories and special nights for all of us.”
