On January 21, 2022, the Miss World Organization announced the Top 40 contestants who will be returning to Puerto Rico for the Miss World finals in March.
Miss World Canada 2020, Svetlana Mamaeva was chosen, placing Canada in the semi-finals for the first time since 2013. It was an emotional moment for Svetlana and her entire family who supported her on this journey.
“Advancing to the Top 40 has been my happiest moment for 2022 so far,” shared Svetlana. “I’ve worked hard for this opportunity and feel very grateful for this experience to continue. I want to say a big thank you to my friends, family, and the Miss World Canada Organization for supporting me every step of the way. I also want to express my respect and admiration for all the contestants. The highlight of my Miss World experience was making friends from nearly 100 countries!”
