Join me on a riveting journey from facing fear to finding fortitude through mountain climbing and boxing, and how these experiences fueled my Miss World fitness preparation with Fittr. A tale of resilience, empowerment, and transformation awaits.
As I embark on the journey to Miss World, fitness has been a cornerstone of my preparation, both physically and emotionally and mentally. My relationship with fitness has always been intertwined with my personal story of resilience and empowerment, especially as a mountain climber and a boxing enthusiast. These activities have been instrumental in my healing journey after surviving a life-threatening encounter at gunpoint.
Mountain climbing has always been more than just a sport to me; it's a form of meditation. Immersed in nature for up to 15 hours at times, I find myself in a meditative state, where step after step the tranquillity of the mountains brings me peace and healing. This connection with nature has been a vital part of my recovery, reminding me that no matter how impossible something may seem, step by step we can make the impossible - possible.
Boxing, on the other hand, played a crucial role in reclaiming my sense of security and power. After the gunpoint incident, I was plagued by fear and a feeling of vulnerability. However, stepping into Black Box Gym in Mexico, I embarked on a transformative journey. With each punch thrown at the heavy bag, I felt a piece of my inner strength return. It wasn't about learning to fight or weaponizing myself, it was about remembering how to feel strong. Even if it was just for a moment, I was reminded that my power is within me and I can feel strong no matter what obstacles I face in life.
This personal evolution inspired me to start solo travel safety and self-defence classes in Mexico City. Partnering with my friends at Black Box Gym, we aimed to empower other women to discover their invincibility, to remind them that their inner strength is indomitable.
In preparation for the fitness challenge at Miss World, I sought to elevate my fitness regimen. Since working as an international model I am accustomed to societal pressure to look thin, but thin has never meant fit. In studying Miss World I understood that it is never about the physical, their fitness and sports challenge could not be won by the best body. I needed to train and cross-train so that I could be strong in many ways. That's when I discovered Fittr, a global fitness platform founded in India. Intrigued by their collaboration on Instagram with Nas Daily, I downloaded the app and was fascinated by its offerings, especially the option to hire a coach for competition training. Recognizing the need to enhance my strength, endurance, and speed for Miss World, I reached out to Jitendra Chouksey, a founder of Fittr, who graciously agreed to collaborate with me.
Under JC's guidance, my fitness journey transformed. I transitioned from being able to do only five push-ups on my knees to mastering fifty regular push-ups. As an international model, I had always felt wary of appearing too muscular. However, JC revolutionized my understanding of fitness. He taught me that strength training wouldn't compromise my femininity but would instead sculpt a strong, lean physique. Trusting the process, I followed a tailored nutrition plan, monitored my heart rate, sleep patterns, and daily steps, and embraced weightlifting like never before.
The results were astonishing. With JC's help, I lost 4kg of fat while gaining muscle and feeling stronger and more confident than ever. As I look forward to the Miss World fitness and sports competitions, I am filled with gratitude for JC and Fittr for their invaluable support in my preparation.
This journey to Miss World is more than just a competition; it's a testament to the power of resilience, the healing force of nature, and the unyielding strength that lies within each of us. I am excited to share this journey with you and hope to inspire others to find their path to empowerment through fitness.
