As I sit here at the airport, my heart is a mixture of excitement and reflection. After three long years filled with anticipation, preparation, and countless moments of both doubt and determination, the day has finally come. I am departing to India for the Miss World festival. It's a sentence I've dreamed of saying, and now that it's a reality, it feels nothing short of surreal.
The road to this moment has been anything but straightforward. It's been a journey marked by personal growth, physical challenges, and an ever-deepening understanding of what it means to truly pursue a dream dream of becoming the first Canadian to win Miss World. There were days when the goal seemed too far, too elusive, but the kindness and support of those around me kept the flame of hope alive.
I am filled with gratitude as I think about the encouragement I've received. From my family and friends to the mentors and trainers who have guided me, each word of support and every gesture of kindness has been a stepping stone on this incredible journey. To my supporters, your belief in me has been my stronghold, and I carry your spirit with me as I step onto this global stage.
India, with its rich tapestry of cultures, history, and beauty, is the perfect backdrop for what I know will be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. India has held a special place in my heart since the first time I visited in 2014 and I am beyond eager to immerse myself in the experience, to see another side of a beautiful nation and to learn, and to grow alongside some of the most inspiring women from around the world.
As I set forth on this remarkable journey, I'm profoundly moved by the transformative power of dreams and the extraordinary paths they lead us on. Waking up each day to pursue a dream with unwavering purpose and intention is an experience of pure liberation—a sensation I wholeheartedly wish for everyone to discover. Despite the hurdles and challenges that life may present, our true purpose resides deep within us, waiting to be unleashed. All it takes is that initial, courageous step toward realization.
The Miss World festival is a celebration of strength, purpose, and the diversity of womanhood. I am honoured to be a part of it and excited to share this adventure with you.
