Today was our first round of the “Head-to-Head Challenge,” where contestants from the Americas, Caribbean, and Africa shared four-minute presentations introducing ourselves and our Beauty with a Purpose projects. I felt deeply honoured to share the work I’ve done with Ribbons, a project rooted in empowerment, education, and Indigenous pride. For this moment, I chose to wear my hair long and wore the colour orange in honour of Every Child Matters. I spoke about the lasting impact of residential schools, how that trauma still lives within generations of Indigenous people today. I wear my hair long for the children who had theirs cut at residential schools. I wear orange to honour the survivors, and to remember the children who never made it home. And I wear my ribbon skirt as a symbol of strength, resilience, and pride. Today was an important day and I am proud to use my voice to for those who are still fighting to be heard. 🧡 #missworld #72missworld #missworldintelangana #beautywithapurpose #bwap #telangana #TelanganaZarurAana #ZarurAana #TridentHyderabad #MissWorldTridentHyderabad #chowmahallapalace #telanganatourism
