Variety's Toys for Joy Christmas Appeal

Every year, numerous children miss out on the simple joy of receiving a new toy during the festive season. The impact of COVID has made the situation even more challenging for Variety kids and families, especially those who are immune-compromised or living with complex medical conditions, leading to increased isolation and vulnerability.

Having had the privilege of actively participating in the sorting, packing, and delivery of gifts to Australian families in need, I've witnessed firsthand the profound impact and significance of this campaign. Many recipient families are living below the poverty line, relying on government assistance for survival. Engaging in a conversation with Mandy Burns, the CEO of Variety (Victoria branch), as part of the Mindfulness Mondays series provided valuable insights into the importance of this campaign. Given the postponement of the Variety Kids X-mas party due to COVID, your donations hold greater significance for the affected Aussie families.

For the past 30 years, Variety has hosted a Christmas Party each December for 5,000 children facing disadvantages, illnesses, and disabilities. However, with the pandemic's impact, the in-person celebration and the customary gift presentation from generous donors to each child have unfortunately not been feasible. The Variety community has played a crucial role in maintaining the uniqueness of this campaign. If you wish to join us in creating something extraordinary this year and ensuring that Australian kids (and their families) feel the warmth of kindness, consider donating to the Christmas Appeal.
