Variety the Children's Charity - Petember!
I was absolutely delighted to take part in Variety the Children's Charities' 'Petember,' during which my furry companions had the chance to showcase their best looks over a four-week campaign. Doug, in particular, thoroughly enjoyed the 'careers' week, where he dressed up as his mom, embodying the role of an Instructor with great flair.
Petember stands out as a remarkable fundraising challenge held throughout September, encouraging individuals to commit an extra 30 minutes each day to spoil their pets with quality time and engaging in fun activities. Simultaneously, participants raise funds for Variety Assistance Dogs.
The funds generated during Petember play a vital role in supporting children on the waiting list who require assistance dogs to enhance their lives. These specially trained working animals assist individuals with disabilities in managing sensory issues, performing everyday activities, and fostering independence. The meticulous process involves selecting specific puppies based on temperament, training them for approximately two years, and then providing advanced training tailored to the individual needs of their future owners. These assistance dogs, costing up to $40,000 to train, represent one of Variety's most sought-after grants.
Diver Doug!By actively participating in the Petember campaign, you contribute to making a significant difference in the lives of Australian children. To join this meaningful cause, visit the 'Donations' page and explore how you can be part of this impactful campaign.
