After debuting in Miss World earlier this year, Togo will be back next year. The 29th edition of the Miss Togo competition, and the second with the winner representing Togo at Miss World, was officially launched on Friday, May 31, 2024, during a press breakfast at the Hôtel 2 Février, by the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Kpaye Bakayota. It was in the presence of the president of the Miss Togo committee, Gaspard Baka, the current Miss Togo, Nathalie Yao-Amuama, the official sponsor Moov Africa Togo represented by its General Director Younes El Badraoui, and an audience of chefs company, partners of the Miss Togo committee that this ceremony took place. “Miss Togo, initially considered as a simple beauty contest, has today become a real cultural enterprise”, an initiative which “encourages women to engage in income-generating activities”, welcomed Prof. Kpaye Koffi Bakayota, awarding the government's social partner award to the Miss Togo National Committee for the implementation of social projects by the participants and the encouragement of female entrepreneurship—social actions which, he noted, are part of the government roadmap. This will be followed by that of the Plateaux, Maritime, and Grand-Lomé regions scheduled for August 24. As for the grand national final, it will take place on December 14 at the Palais des Congrès in Lomé. To participate, you must be Togolese, aged 18 to 24, single without children, and of good moral character.
