This year's Miss World is our hope Anudi There are only three more days left for the 72nd Miss World pageant to begin. The world's premier beauty pageant, Miss World, will be held in Hyderabad, India from May 7th to May 31st. This year, Sri Lanka will be represented by Anudi Gunasekara. The 2024 winner of the title of Siyatha Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World, the 25-year-old who grew up in the historic city of Anuradhapura and completed her high school education at Anuradhapura Central College, is a 25-year-old with an honours degree in International Relations from the University of Kelaniya. Anudi, who studied professional modeling under Brian Kerkoven in 2020, entered the profession as a part-time model while still in university before being crowned Miss Sri Lanka. She is currently working as a model and a social activist. She is passionate about bringing honor to Sri Lanka through her crown and the mission she has to fulfill for society as a beauty queen and a woman. The best example of this is the Saheli Foundation 🩵 she founded. Saheli is a non-profit organization established to eliminate period poverty among Sri Lankan women, especially girls. While studying at university, Anudi founded the Saheli Foundation based on an idea that arose while focusing on the crime of rape in Sri Lanka and the awareness of women about it and the protection of women's rights. The aim of the Saheli organization is to increase awareness about menstrual health, increase access to feminine hygiene products, donate hygiene products and reduce the 50% period poverty in the country. Also, in a society that is reluctant to have open discussions about women's menstrual health due to social and cultural taboos in Sri Lanka, Anudi's ambition is to provide knowledge and facilities for women of all social classes in the country. This time, we have a good opportunity to bring Sri Lanka closer to the Miss World crown after a while. We can be happy with Anudi in all aspects of beauty, virtue, personality, intelligence, dedication. Therefore, we also encourage her to the best of our ability. At the end of a long note, we wish that Anudi will have the ability and courage to bring honor to Sri Lanka on the Miss World stage!!
