My name is Zainab Jama, and I’m honored to represent Somalia on the Miss World stage. I am a children’s healthcare worker, a passionate advocate for girls’ rights, and the founder of the Female Initiative Foundation—a project dedicated to ending female genital mutilation (FGM) and empowering young girls through education, mental health support, and gender equality. As a survivor of FGM myself, I’ve turned my personal pain into a powerful purpose. I use my voice to raise awareness, challenge harmful traditions, and stand up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Born in Somalia and raised in the UK, I’ve experienced the struggle of adapting to a new culture, overcoming bullying, and learning a new language—but those challenges only made me stronger and more determined. I hold a degree in Aviation and Airport Management, and my work in healthcare has deepened my compassion for others. Every day, I’m reminded of the resilience of the human spirit, especially in children. That same resilience fuels my mission: to inspire young girls to believe in their worth, to know they are enough, and to dream beyond limitations. Representing my country is not just an honor—it’s a responsibility.
