Puerto Rico Diaries - PART 1 Making my way to the 70th edition of Miss World, I landed in Puerto Rico, and I realised that it was happening for real! It being my first time in the west; I was nervous, excited, and pumped up with a lot of energy to experience all the magic that the Miss World organisation had in store. Now, as the day of the finale draws closer, I feel nostalgic about the time spent in Puerto Rico back in December; all the memories that we created are still afresh. So here’s me all set to take you through some of my favorite moments at ‘the enchanted island.’ Image [https://www.missworld.com/.image/c_fit,h_600,w_600/MTg3NTcyODE2NjE3NDE2NTkx/images-1.png] During my journey, I had the splendid opportunity to attend the first-ever symphonic concert orchestra along with my Miss World Sisters. I loved how the whole show was themed around a grandmother narrating stories and fairy tales to little children; it really took me back to my time in Hyderabad with my grandmother, where I would spend hours together listening to her stories and experiences. Different tales were narrated in the form of stories and music, and the whole experience was magical - almost like a mesmerising lullaby. I still remember us walking through the narrow passageways in our vibrant costumes, exploring the beauty of the oldest area of the town where you can find 300 to 450-year-old homes and buildings. Old San Juan, properly known as San Juan Antiguo, is the oldest city in the U.S. and its territories. And, the most magical part was that each of us had carried little pieces of our countries' culture from across the world, all the way down to Puerto Rico. With a pinch of nervousness and excitement, I participated in the challenge with much pride and honour, knowing that I was asked about my country. I had the chance to speak about my fond respect for India and what my homeland had to share with the world. It was indeed a special moment for me and I will carry these memories in my heart forever.
