When a woman falls, the whole village falters.” and “When the hut burns, it’s not just the wind that’s to blame.”

Today, many will speak of the flames.

And they will be right.

But I also want to speak of the hut.

Being a woman is not just about claiming rights. It’s about bearing an invisible responsibility:

the responsibility of setting an example,

the responsibility of passing on knowledge,

the responsibility of maintaining balance.

Because in our homes, in our neighborhoods, in our friendships, sometimes the hurt doesn’t always come from where we expect.

Sometimes words wound.

Sometimes jealousy fractures.

Sometimes anger overwhelms wisdom.

March 8th, celebrated internationally, notably at the initiative of the United Nations, is a day of awareness.

Awareness that we are powerful and that all power calls for self-control.

But on this day, my heart goes first to those who can no longer speak.

More than 19 doves released—how long will it take for these macabre acts to end?

Several silences.

Several absences around the tables.

To their families, we send our thoughts and prayers.

May this March 8th be a day of true solidarity among women🕊️
