Hello everyone! My name is Sanne, and I’m a finalist for Miss World Netherlands 2024/25. Just to help you get to know me a little better… I’m 19 years old and live in Smilde, a small village in the north of the Netherlands. I’m really proud to come from the north — it’s where my heart is. In January, I finished school and earned my degree as a social worker. I have a deep passion for working with people who are living with mental health challenges or a intellectual disability. Being there for others, supporting them in their daily lives, and helping them feel seen and valued is something that means the world to me Even though I graduated as a social worker, in January 2025 I got the amazing opportunity to open my own store. I’m currently working as a supermarket manager and owner, something I absolutely love. It’s a dream come true for me. There are so many things in life that I find important, think about: Mental health, self-love and love for others, and reducing food waste. These are the values I stand for. That’s why my Beauty With a Purpose project is all about mental health and learning to love yourself. In the past, I really struggled with self-love. I missed out on so many beautiful experiences because I believed I wasn’t good enough, I thought I was too fat, too lazy, not worthy. I had no energy, and I didn’t see my own worth. Looking back, I sometimes feel sad thinking about all I could have done. But this reflection also gave me strength, it made me want to help others who feel the same way. That’s why I chose to study social work. It not only taught me about the profession, but also about myself. I’ve grown so much since then. And now… I’m a finalist for Miss World Netherlands. It still sounds crazy to say out loud, but I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come.
