Miss WorldMiss World

Wrapped in heritage, walking into purpose. This fabric—madras—was born in Chennai (formerly Madras), India, originally dyed with plants, woven by hand. Centuries ago, it journeyed across oceans to Guadeloupe, where it became both a marker of identity and survival—used by enslaved women to cover their hair due to discrimination, to resist, to exist. Today, Guadeloupe return to India, wearing plant-based makeup, uncovered afro hair AND madras, not as a cloth of the past, but as a cape of pride. Handcrafted with love and excellence by Guadeloupean designer Lemon, this piece is my first step into the Miss World journey. As I embark to meet the world, it is with pride that I embody these powerful messages : We are the children of crossing seas. We are royalty born of resilience. We are ready to rise again. We are Guadeloupe. Sa ki fèt, fèt. Alè la sé vansé nou ka vansé. 🦋 (guadeloupean creole, meaning : what was done is part of the past, now we are moving forward) Guadeloupe is ready to walk the soil of Telangana. May the Higher Realms protect and guide me every step of the way. 🙏🏽✈️🇬🇵 Dhanyavadalu 🙏🏽 🇮🇳 • • • • #72ndmissworld #72missworld #missworld #missworldguadeloupe #missworldguadeloupe2025 #telanganazaruraana #missworlddeparture #missworlddepartures #beautywithapurpose #bwap #guadeloupe #india #telangana
