A JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES
Some moments you can clearly look back on and see God’s plan for your life. Coming to Miss World is definitely one of them. Representing the Philippines on the international stage is such an incredible honor. Coming to Vietnam was honestly such a huge step of faith in so many areas, but I have experienced so much of God’s faithfulness throughout this journey.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS OF THIS JOURNEY
• I really loved the Sharing Smiles Spreading Love charity event, because this really is the heart of Miss World – seeing the kids smiling and knowing that lives are being impacted.
• Definitely meeting my sister queens from all over the world – I’ve always heard about the friendships made at pageants but never experienced it. But it’s amazing the connection you have with women from around the world. I’ve especially hit it off with Netherlands and Singapore and, of course, my roommate from Vietnam.
• And doing well in the fast tracks was really memorable to me because I really felt the support of the Philippines and their excitement to walk this journey with me from afar, especially sharing my beauty with a purpose because that really is the whole reason I joined Miss World.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART FOR YOU?
Well, the long hours definitely. Everyone sees the glamorous top model or intellectual speeches but no one really thinks about the days of rehearsals to make everything excellent, the fittings, the very little sleep, the hours of wearing high heels and being on your feet… But God’s grace!
OTHER THEN THE TITLE, WHAT HAS THIS JOURNEY GIVEN TO YOU?
Coming to Miss World has given me the opportunity to tour the beautiful country of Vietnam. It has let me encounter and be inspired by women from nearly every continent on earth. It made me realize how huge our world is, and how many other people, especially these incredible women, are choosin to use their voices, choosing to make a difference and that gives me such hope for the generations to come.
