Anudi Gunasekara - Miss World Sri Lanka 2024 Anudi Gunasekara, born on November 7, 1999, in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka, is a distinguished model, social activist, and the reigning Miss World Sri Lanka 2024. She earned the national title at the Siyatha Miss World Sri Lanka pageant held on July 29, 2024, at the Hilton Grand Ballroom in Colombo. In addition to the crown, she secured the "Most Popular" and "Best in Evening Wear" mini titles. Anudi's academic journey is marked by excellence; she graduated with a Second Upper-Class Honours degree in International Relations from the University of Kelaniya. Her early education was completed at Anuradhapura Central College. Beyond her academic and pageant achievements, Anudi is deeply committed to social causes. She is the founder of the "Saheli Foundation," a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating period poverty in Sri Lanka. The initiative began as a university project and has since expanded to raise awareness about menstrual health, distribute hygiene products, and reduce the menstrual poverty rate, which affects an estimated 50% of women in the country. Anudi's advocacy focuses on breaking social and cultural taboos surrounding menstruation and providing education and resources to women across all social backgrounds. Her dedication to these causes has been recognized by various organizations, including her role as a BleedGood Ambassador for the Selyn Foundation. Currently, Anudi is representing Sri Lanka at the 72nd Miss World Festival, taking place in Hyderabad, India, from May 7 to May 31, 2025. Her participation in the pageant is not only a testament to her beauty and poise but also to her unwavering commitment to social change and women's empowerment.
