Puerto Rico Diaries: Río Grande Parade On December 5, 2021 Miss World contestants participated in the open roof bus parade around Río Grande. Miss World Canada 2020, Svetlana Mamaeva, shares her memories from this experience: “The fun started before the parade even began. It was a rainy day, so we had to wait inside the bus for a little, which turned into a massive karaoke party! It was such a special moment and a bonding experience for all of us, with the sound of the rain making it even more comforting and cozy. Once the rain stopped, we were transferred into the special open top buses for the parade and the experience continued! We were singing and dancing, while waving our country flags from the bus to everyone on the streets who came out to see and support us. The event concluded with open-air music performances and fireworks. J Ven performed his song “Fiesta en Puerto Rico” which became one of my most-played tracks when I got ready in the mornings during the competition month. Thank you Miss World for an unforgettable experience and giving us the opportunity to share the joy with the people of Puerto Rico.”
