My National costume 🇹🇬

My national costume is not just a piece of clothing; it is a living symbol of Togolese heritage. It carries within it the spirit of ‘Togo Chéri, l’Or de l’Humanité’, a phrase taken from our national anthem, which reminds us that our country, through its culture, diversity, and the strength of its people, is a treasure for humanity. Every pattern, every color, every accessory of this costume tells the story of our ancestors, their courage, their unity, and their hope. By wearing it, I pay homage to their memory and celebrate the richness of our identity, which makes Togo a light for the whole world. The yellow-gold symbolizes faith in work, the red recalls the sacrifices for independence, the green evokes fertility and hope, and the white embodies peace and solidarity. The cowrie crown represents spiritual wealth, the ornate scepter symbolizes power and wisdom, and the hawk wings celebrate bravery and the aspiration for greatness.
