Signing off… 🇨🇦
The last month has been one of the busiest and most incredible… months of my life. Representing Canada at Miss World was an honour beyond words, and one I’ll carry with me forever. Since returning home, I’ve taken time to rest and reflect. Last week, I visited Canmore, Alberta, and hiked up a mountain. Halfway through, I found myself, tired, struggling but also in awe of the beauty surrounding me. I kept saying, "Wow, aren’t we grateful?”When we reached a scenic viewpoint, our group debated whether to keep going to the very top. I chose to stay behind and while I didn’t reach the summit, I stood still, breathed in the fresh air, and fully embraced the view I did have. That moment reminded me so much of my Miss World journey. It’s not always about the destination. Sometimes, the most powerful part is the journey itself, the people beside you, the growth along the way, and the courage to simply keep going. Regardless of the end results at Miss World and not “making it to the top of the mountain”, I am SO proud of what I did achieve: becoming the first Indigenous woman to represent Canada on the Miss World stage, a moment that will forever be a part of history. Thank you to every single person who believed in me, supported me, and walked this journey with me. I appreciate and love you all. Multimedia Challenge #2 from Canada!
From being the first Indigenous woman to win Miss Canada to using my platform to inspire and uplift Native girls across the country, it’s been a path filled with purpose, passion, and pride. Now, standing here at @missworld in Telangana, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. The hospitality in India has been unmatched, and my heart is so full. One of my favourite memories? Winning bronze in the Miss World badminton tournament, in none other than the badminton capital of India, Hyderabad! But beyond the achievements, it’s the beautiful friendships I’ve made with 107 incredible women from around the world that I’ll carry with me forever. Last night’s Top Model competition was an incredible experience. I was honoured to walk for two outstanding designers; @ekaj_team, my talented Canadian friend, who created a bold pant look for the World Designer segment and a final look that closed the evening with confidence; and the renowned @archanakochharofficial, who dressed me in a stunning sari that blended tradition with elegance. Canada’s Multimedia Challenge 🇨🇦
Telangana, you surprised me in the best way! I had no idea just how big badminton was here, until I stepped into Hyderabad, the badminton capital of India! This city has produced Olympic legends like @pvsindhu1 and @nehwalsaina, and the energy around the sport is next level. 🏸 I hadn’t played in 8 years, but somehow I won the @missworld Sports Challenge badminton tournament, and the chants of “Canada!” from the crowd? School Visit with my Miss World Sisters
Today we visited Victoria Home Memorial School, where we had the opportunity to meet some of the sweetest and most spirited young girls. We shared gifts, smiles, and meaningful moments together. I also learned that some of the students live here full-time due to difficult circumstances. Despite the challenges they’ve faced, their strength and joy were truly inspiring. Paris, a story of a little girls strength 🧡
During yesterday’s Head to Head challenge, I had the chance to share one of the most meaningful moments of my Beauty with a Purpose project, Ribbons. I spoke about Paris, a beautiful young girl whose strength and resilience continue to inspire me. Through the Ribbons Bursary, Paris was the first recipient to receive a $1000 worth of school essentials to support her academic journey. It’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do. Head to Head Challenge day 🧡🪶
Today was our first round of the “Head-to-Head Challenge,” where contestants from the Americas, Caribbean, and Africa shared four-minute presentations introducing ourselves and our Beauty with a Purpose projects. I felt deeply honoured to share the work I’ve done with Ribbons, a project rooted in empowerment, education, and Indigenous pride. For this moment, I chose to wear my hair long and wore the colour orange in honour of Every Child Matters. I spoke about the lasting impact of residential schools, how that trauma still lives within generations of Indigenous people today. I wear my hair long for the children who had theirs cut at residential schools. I wear orange to honour the survivors, and to remember the children who never made it home. And I wear my ribbon skirt as a symbol of strength, resilience, and pride. Recognition to my former coaches 🏸
I have to give a big shoutout to my former coaches from @chapleauelementaryandsecondary! All those ‘Sports Days’ definitely paid off! 🏸 We didn’t know there would be a badminton tournament until the Sports Challenge actually began, but thankfully, I was able to shake off the rust just in time. I ended up winning the badminton tournament, which helped me score enough points to place 3rd overall at the @missworld Sports Challenge! I’ve played sports my whole life, so this was such a fun and energizing day. Sports Challenge, Canada gets BRONZE 🥉🇨🇦
Today was the @missworld Sports Challenge and I’m very proud to say that I; passed the beep test, threw my hardest in shock putt, ran my fastest in the shuttle run, and won the overall badminton competition. Thanks to all this effort, I am happy to share that I placed 3rd overall in the Sports Challenge! However it is not over yet, there are still four more challenges ahead in the Miss World Festival! But today, I am very proud of my achievement and my Green Team for doing great today! 💚 ALSO!
