The Miss World 2025 pageant may be over, but the injustice faced by our own Miss Sri Lanka, Anudi Gunasekara, is still echoing in the hearts of many Sri Lankans and international pageant followers.
Anudi represented Sri Lanka with grace, intelligence, beauty, and dignity. She poured her heart, time, and energy into this journey — not for personal gain, but to carry our nation proudly on a global stage.
❗ And yet… she was not even selected among the Top 40 finalists.
This decision has shocked not only her supporters in Sri Lanka but also many around the world who followed her journey and believed she was a strong contender.
🔴 Was this her fault?
Absolutely not.
She did her part. Exceptionally. What failed her was a system that appears to lack transparency and consistency in its evaluation process.
🟠 Was the competition truly fair?
That’s the question now being raised worldwide. The lack of clear criteria, coupled with suspected external influences, casts a long shadow over the credibility of the final results.
📢 We’ve stayed silent too long — but this is not a time to be silent.
We owe it to Anudi, and to every young woman who dares to dream, to demand fairness, transparency, and accountability from global platforms like Miss World.
