Tamunosoye Karibi-George, a communicator representing Bayelsa State, was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 during the national final held on June 6 at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. The 26-year-old communications professional, who hails from Port Harcourt in Rivers State, emerged victorious from a field of 20 contestants competing under the theme “Pride, Power, and Purpose.”

Karibi-George succeeds Joy Mojisola Raimi, who represented Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World Festival in India and achieved a Top 20 placement while finishing among the Top 5 contestants from Africa.

Karibi-George continues her advocacy work through Beyond Labels, an initiative dedicated to promoting inclusion and opportunities for children with disabilities and special needs. She is also known for her involvement in climate advocacy, vocational skills training, and youth empowerment programs.

The competition, organized by the Silverbird Group, featured a week of leadership development, advocacy activities, and cultural presentations ahead of the final. The Top 5 finalists represented Bayelsa, Anambra, Edo, Rivers, and Abuja, with Karibi-George ultimately receiving the crown from National Director Guy Murray-Bruce.

As Miss World Nigeria 2026, Karibi-George will represent Nigeria at the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place in Vietnam from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
