Opal Suschata is back in her homeland of Thailand for a few days, and after a couple of well-deserved resting days, Miss World also spent some quality time with her mother. 

On Tuesday, August 12, she celebrated Mother’s Day in Thailand, a national holiday that also honors Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. The date marks the Queen Mother’s birthday and is observed nationwide with ceremonies, tributes, and family gatherings.

To celebrate, Opal treated her mother to a relaxing spa experience, a special dinner, and a moment of prayer to the goddess Lakshmi, giving thanks for her blessings and asking for protection for the future. In Hindu tradition, Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), beauty, and good fortune. In Thailand, where Hindu influences have blended with Buddhist culture for centuries, Phra Mae Laksami, as she is known locally, is revered by those seeking success, abundance and spiritual well-being. 

Just before midnight, Opal and her mother arrived at the image of the goddess, becoming the very first devotees to offer prayers as the new day began. It was a symbolic and intimate gesture, blending gratitude with hope.

After this precious time with her mother and fully recharged, it was back to business. On Wednesday morning, Opal stepped into the studio for a photoshoot with Tatler Thailand, the prestigious lifestyle magazine launched in 1991, long considered the go-to publication for Thailand’s high society.

Some of the looks chosen for the shoot, all from Sirivannavari, the fashion brand of the Thai Princess, were carefully selected to showcase refinement, elegance, and impeccable style. As top beauty professionals worked on her hair and makeup, Miss World relaxed in the chair, chatting warmly with the team preparing her for the camera. Meanwhile, every detail was attended to with precision, from the perfect choice of shoes to meticulous lighting and test shots by talented photographer Termsit Siriphanich, ensuring that each frame captured both the sophistication of the wardrobe and the poise of its wearer.

Opal was also interviewed for the magazine, sharing her views on fashion and lifestyle. As a national and international reference for elegance and refined taste, she offers readers an inside look at her personal approach to style, from how she curates her wardrobe to the values and inspirations that guide her fashion choices.
